HD Resolution
720p @ 30 fps image quality
An entry-level Dash Cam, the Nextbase 122 model offers users standard HD quality when recording their journeys on the road. At 720p resolution with 30 frames per second, you can benefit from quality recordings, similar to those featured in HD broadcasts. Clarity is key when it comes to your Dash Cam — you can rely on clear footage to help you if you need it, to send to your insurer or the police.
Parking Mode
Stay safe when stationary with the 122 Dash Cam
Your Dash Cam can keep you safe, even when you’re not driving. Intelligent parking mode records any bump or physical movement whilst your car is parked. If your car feels any kind of movement, the camera will turn on and record, meaning you will know exactly when and where your car has been hit. You can then use this footage to support your claim.
122 Dash Cam G force assistance
So, how does intelligent parking mode actually work? Your Dash Cam has a G Force sensor which registers movement. If your car is bumped whilst stationary, your Nextbase Dash Cam will automatically switch on, record for 30 seconds, and then shut down. The G force sensor will turn your camera on when you’re away, so you can have peace of mind when you’re parked, for enhanced protection and security.
Night Vision
Clear footage at night
You no longer have to worry about driving in the dark. The Nextbase 122 Dash Cam comes equipped with night vision, so even on the darkest nights, your Dash Cam will pick up number plates, signage and your surroundings. High-definition night vision gives you peace of mind that if you’re involved in a collision late at night or in the early hours, you can still benefit from clear footage you can send to the police or your insurer.
Wide Viewing Angle
120 Degrees
Discover a wide road view with the 122 Dash Cam
As an entry-level Dash Cam, the Nextbase 122 model offers a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees — this means it will cover the whole road. It provides an ideal view for most drivers and is suitable to cover a range of circumstances.
With this being the entry model, you may be wondering why you shouldn’t choose a Dash Cam with a wider viewing angle. The wider the angle you choose, the more distortion you’re at risk of. This is why we believe that using a high-quality lens with a clear image and a wide view is a better option.
Loop Recording
What is loop recording on a 122 Dash Cam?
Loop recording is as the name suggests — a continuous recording that means your Dash Cam won’t miss a thing. Even if your SD memory card reaches full capacity, older files are simply overwritten once storage has reached its limit. Loop recording also means as soon as your 122 Dash Cam is powered on, it will automatically record, it’s got you covered!
Unfortunately, accidents do happen but in the event of this, files that have been protected by activation of the G-Sensor will not be overwritten. This means important clips that can be used for insurance purposes will stay on the card, and you don’t have to worry about them being deleted.
Simple file segmentation with 122 Dash Cam
It’s easy to assume that loop recording would make it more difficult to find the specific footage you need if you’re involved in an accident, however, this is where file segmentation comes in. Loop recording sorts each file into manageable segments at around three minutes. This makes it easier to identify, download, and transfer files from your 122 Dash Cam when you need them.
It’s important to format your SD card regularly. This simply means deleting protected files which are stored on the card. Try to free up space once a month — you can do this easily with the option to delete all files if you no longer need them.

G-Sensor
Protect essential footage with G-Sensor
Similar to the G force sensor we mentioned above, this G-Sensor is an accelerometer that registers the force applied during impact. A value will be pre-set by the 122’s firmware upon installation, and if it’s reached — when your car feels that strength of impact — the recorded footage will be protected and moved into a folder that cannot be overwritten.
There are various benefits that come with the G-Sensor, with the main advantage being that your dash cam will record an incident that exceeds the pre-set impact value and save it, giving you peace of mind you’ll have access to vital footage when you need it most.
The G-Sensor can be triggered by other movements, like potholes, speed bumps, acceleration and braking. You can calibrate your G-Sensor in the 122 Dash Cam by setting it to high, medium, low and off. The higher the setting, the higher the sensitivity. If you find your 122 model is recording and storing too many files, you can turn your G-Sensor off.
